If you’re looking for a mid-year break, want to jump start your fitness, or learn cutting-edge techniques that will help you improve your life and sport performance then you need to join us for the XPT Costa Rica Experience.
You’ll be coached by Laird Hamilton, Gabby Reece and the XPT Team during a three-day tropical fitness retreat. You’ll learn the XPT Breathe, Move, Recover curriculum through performance breathing, pool training with underwater workouts, gym training, nature workouts, ice-heat therapy sessions, stand up paddling, recovery work, and XPT lifestyle education. Topics such as nutrition, sleep, and stress management in addition to the mind-body and physical training will help you with practical knowledge you can employ at home.
XPT IS GREAT FOR TRIATHLETES, SWIMMERS, CYCLISTS & RUNNERS
The benefits of XPT-heightened performance even in extreme environments are immediately valuable to every endurance sports athlete. The open water swim at the beginning of the race, thought by many to be the most mentally daunting of a triathlon, often presents low temperatures and a need for comfort in and around breaking waves. Factor in the crowd at the beginning of the race and the adrenaline rush, and the XPT emphasis on remaining calm in what is an inherently stressful situation, will give you a confidence boost in the open water.
You’ll feel improvement in your transitions as well, with sudden adaptation required to move from cold to hot and continue performing, especially as muscle groups shift responsibilities and adapt to the change of movement. Mastery of the transition from bike to run, perhaps the most difficult of a triathlon, draws heavily on the XPT Recover pillar, which focuses on utilizing specialized techniques to adapt the body faster.

Is this experience right for me? Don’t be intimidated! The XPT Experience was created to suit all fitness levels. You do not need to be a world-class athlete or in elite shape to benefit from the XPT Experience. Guests come from many different backgrounds, ages and fitness levels. We’ll meet you where you currently are and help you explore the edges of your comfort zone. This experience is all about YOU and we will make sure you leave with dozens of new tools, information, and inspiration to help you live a performance driven life!
What's Included in your XPT Experience:
3 nights of accommodation at Las Catalinas, Costa Rica
XPT workouts with Laird, Gabby and experienced team members and coaches
Pool training and strength building workouts
Gym training, and high intensity workouts customized for each client
Outdoor activities such as hiking and Stand Up Paddle boarding
Instruction in Performance Breathing Techniques
Lecture topics include human performance, mind-body connection, daily goals, nutrition, sleep, and tools for managing stress
Lunch, Dinner, Hydration and Snacks are included
XPT Heat and Ice Recovery Program after our workouts
Opportunity to meet new friends and train with like-minded individuals

Participants are responsible for their flights and transportation to and from the Experience. XPT provides transportation during the Experience.
Lunch, dinner, hydration and snacks are provided. You’ll enjoy delicious, healthy food approved by our advisors and used by XPT members to fuel their daily lives. Lunch and dinners are done family style, as a group. Meals consist of lean meats, fish, vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts etc. Vegetarian / Vegan requests are accommodated as best as possible. Water and snacks are provided throughout.

Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece are XPT founders and the inspiration behind the XPT strength and conditioning training program; with a culmination of 30+ years in high level athletics, chasing giant waves, playing professional volleyball, and exploring human possibilities, Laird and Gabby set the tone in living a limitless life.
