Challenge Roth 2023 Tour Update

We have several important updates to share with those on our Challenge Roth 2023 race week tour. Our tour leadership team is on the way back home after a productive trip to Germany to meet with the Roth race organization, local officials, and our hotel and transportation partners to ensure that every detail of the tour is ready to roll out for you!

Let’s dive right in!

Rolling out the red carpet at Challenge Roth!

ZOOM Q&A CALL COMING IN MAY!

Our first Roth news item is the announcement that we are tentatively planning a live ZOOM call with all of you on Sunday, 21 May at 1:00 p.m. US-Central time. This date and time will be confirmed soon, with our guest speakers announced as well. It is a key opportunity to see what we have planned for your day to day itinerary while you are on tour, understand the race course and race day procedures a bit better, and have the chance to ask your questions about the race and tour. Pencil in 21 May, 13:00pm and watch your email for details.

ROTH BIKE & WETSUIT RENTALS

Something new for Challenge Roth is the partnership with a great bike rental company. You may have seen the video update from Roth about this new bike rental option, but if you missed it, here’s a link to everything you need to know about Roth bike rental. Having the option to rent a bike for the race at the Expo is big news, and we are happy to see this innovation. Even if it’s just some added peace of mind, having a backup plan available for the bike is always a great thing.

If you want to leave your wetsuit at home, Challenge Roth partner Zone3 is offering easy wetsuit rentals for the event. Here’s the link to this special program.

ALERT! AIRLINE ITINERARIES ARE DUE

As we draw closer to arrivals day for your Challenge Roth experience, it’s very important that we have your airline or transportation details for arrival and departure, so we can ensure your seat on our airport pickup and drop-off rosters. If you have not yet done so, please email your airline, flight numbers, arrival and departure times, to team@race-quest.com so we can schedule you for a 9am, 1pm or 5pm shuttle. If you are coming in early, let us know which shuttle time you prefer to meet us at the Munich airport on arrival day.

Depending on everyone’s arrival times, we may add a 3pm shuttle or make an adjustment on game day that best helps the group get to your hotel as efficiently as possible. Arrivals on Tuesday, 20 June and Thursday, 22 June are included in your tour package. Transit time from Munich airport (MUC) to Nuremberg or Roth is generally 2 hours, depending on the traffic conditions. We will use the Autobahn, so if you’ve never been to Germany, you are in for a treat!

Touring Prague the week after Challenge Roth.

AFTER CHALLENGE ROTH

A trip that we affectionately call the “Roth after party” is the Best of Bohemia add-on tour that includes 3 nights in Prague and 1 (optional 2) nights in Munich prior to your departure from Germany. This is a small group tour by design, and we have a great time seeing the sights, dining, shopping and touring in style. We have room for 1-2 people to join the tour before we close it out next week. To add this to your Roth tour, email team@race-quest.com or book it here.

CHALLENGE ROTH 2024

It’s amazing how time flies when you’re having fun! Challenge Roth 2023 is just weeks away, (can you believe it?) but for those of you who are thinking of future Roth campaigns, or have friends, club members or teammates who want to get in on the Roth magic, we will be opening up NEXT WEEK for Challenge Roth 2024. The race day in 2024 is back to its usual July time period, 7 July to be precise. All currently booked travelers, past travelers, and those on our pre-sale notification list will have first crack at the 2024 tour bookings with guaranteed access to purchase race entry if you need one. Help us spread the news, and email team@race-quest.com if you want to join the 72 others who are already on the pre-sale list. An exclusive offer is also in the works for all pre-sale bookings. Groups and teams are also welcomed, but with limited slots available, we encourage you to get ready to reserve ‘24 next week.

Meet Roth champions past and present at the finish line!

ROTH RACE NOTEBOOK

Random items we’ve learned from the race office…. this year on the course you won’t find sponges, but there will be a few tons of blissfully cold, crushed ice available to you on the run course at a point you pass through three times…. The official nutrition partner for Challenge Roth 2023 is Powerbar, so be sure to train a bit with this as you’ll find ample amounts of it on the race course…. Chrissie Wellington, who set the world record on the Challenge Roth course, returns this year to meet as many of you as possible and award medals at the finish line… Speaking of Roth legends, the pro field this year is absolutely loaded with 5 World Champions taking part…. In October, Challenge Roth was awarded the prestigious Bavarian Sports Prize for 2022 at a star-studded ceremony at BMW World in Munich… The pre-race Pasta Party is back in full form for 2023… If you forget to pack something, don’t worry, the world’s largest triathlon Expo at Challenge Roth will have it for you!

RIDE THE ROTH BIKE COURSE VIRTUALLY

Watch for our next detailed blog, email update and the details about the group ZOOM Q&A in early May. We will also be distributing the official Challenge Roth Tour guidebooks by email PDF to all participants within the next two weeks.
